San Diego Troubadour
Who We Are

The San Diego Troubadour is a free publication aimed at bridging the gap in covering music not often represented in other local music magazines and newspapers. The editors’ vision of creating a publication that specializes in American roots music, which encompasses alternative country, folk, gospel, bluegrass, and Americana, was realized in the inauguration of its first issue in September 2001. By advertising in the San Diego Troubadour, you help support the growing interest in American roots music, which has long been overshadowed by the harder-edged rock, rap, and overproduced pop music scene.

This publication is dedicated to musicians and music lovers who know the real stuff when they hear it. It is intended to facilitate camaraderie among players, performers, and songwriters whose vision it is to make quality music despite the trends, music that they’re proud to share with others. For long after the music industry merges, dissolves, reorganizes, and eventually self-destructs, we’ll still be out here just pickin’ and grinnin’.
